Maddy

Maddy is 6-months-old and she is a Beagle.

She needs some training in basic commands and lead walking. She would benefit from going to training classes.

Maddy is in foster with other dogs at the moment so is going to the toilet outside in the garden during the day. She will need to get used to not messing in the house overnight as she does have an accident, but for a 6-month-old pup is good.

She is very friendly but needs to learn not to jump on people as she craves attention from people.

Maddy is  living with cats and is ok with them.

Beagles can be hard work to train. They are hounds so use their noses when out and about and may have selective hearing; she may prefer to chase a squirrel than come back to you so I think Maddy would do better living with an older dog who is good on recalls.

Beagles are not your normal pet dog, they tend have a little howl rather than bark when excited as Maddy is practising well! So consider this as well.

She needs someone around for much of the day as she is so young.
