Freda's
diary
1st
September 2009
Well
what a month I have had.
On the
first day I had to go back to the vets for a little op and to have some
x-rays done. They took out one of my little lumps. It did hurt, and I had
to wear one of those buster collars again. I do hate them, but I got my
own back on mum as I hit her up the back of the legs a lot. She knows what
the vet said so she will tell you later. Fortunately I only had to wear it
for a few days and then I stopped trying to nibble and lick it. I feel so
much better now it's all healed.
(Freda
had her biopsy and x-rays. Fortunately the x-rays were clear and the lump
was benign but they have said she will grow more, and indeed she has, and
that some will be benign but some will be malignant, so we must keep a
very close eye on her.
We have
decided for now not to put her through the major op to strip out all the
mammary tissue, and just see how things go.
Freda
Is doing very well and has now gained some weight; she Is 10.25kg or
thereabouts, which Is a good weight for her to be. Her biggest problem at
the moment is her Itchy skin. We are trying to get to the bottom of this
and have been back to the vets for more tablets and some oil, which goes
on her food to try and help moisturise her dry skin. Freda Is also having
baths again, but with a skin-soothing shampoo.
She is slowly getting there and Is still a wonderful loving
dog.)
