6 Year Old
Female Pug

Dizzy is a great girl who has been in foster for quite some time as she does have rather specific needs. She has at some point in her life had a spinal injury which has left her with mobility issues. In the house she will need the room where she is most to be carpeted, kitchens with lino ect are fine but for the most part she must have a carpeted surface to enable her to walk. She cannot gain her balance on slippery surfaces easily and it would also very quickly give her sores on the areas that rub as she mobilises.

She loves her walks, she goes like a rocket in her wheels and stops at nothing to get where she wants to be, including nearly launching herself, complete with wheels into the lake! She adores people and goes mad for a fuss in true pug style.

Dizzy has some continence issues, she has Incurin - 1 tablet daily this keeps her dry. She can on occasion at night toilet, she is allowed the run of the kitchen so that any accidents don't cause her a problem. We don't use nappies as it would mean that she was sitting in her accident overnight and we wouldn't want that. It is not often and her comfort is the priority. She can on a very rare occasion when over excited drop a little poop bomb! They are well formed and easy to clear without causing a problem. We as a foster accept that this is her, and deal with it. We know it may be too much for some but it is what happens, it doesn't cause her any problems but we want anyone considering adopting her to have a full understanding of how she is poops an all.

She is great with other dogs and cats except when food is around so Dizzy is fed in a crate to ensure she cant steal the other dogs food, like any pug she inhales her food in one quick breath, her weight is great and as a result of loosing weight her mobility has improved greatly. It is important that her weight is monitored to ensure she is in the best condition possible for her mobility. She has Loxicom daily to ensure she is comfortable as her gait does put pressure on her body and we know she will have muscle aches.

She has a wonderful nature and truly is a great girl, we want the best for her and we have to make sure that any applicants can ensure all her needs are met. Please consider all of her needs before applying.

Dizzy has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. She also has her wheels which will go with her to her new home. Dizzy is currently being fostered in Aldershot Hampshire. For further details regarding dogs available from Pro Dogs Direct please email or visit our website and complete an online application form.
