We would like to honour Margaret Roots who was not only a hardworking Founder / Trustee for Pro Dogs but also a well loved and respected friend of many.
 
Margaret passed away following a long illness.
 
Margaret worked tirelessly to help the dogs, having a particular love of helping the ex-breeding girls. She was always ready at a moment's notice to help with anything asked of her, be it an urgent dog in need, fundraising, whatever and wherever she was needed. She helped willingly and with a great passion for many years.
 
Margaret fostered and helped rehome too many dogs to mention them all; we know that without her help the dogs would have had little chance at the great future she enabled them to have. There was always a comfy bed waiting at her home for any foster dog needing love and care when other fosters were full.
 
Her devotion to Pro Dogs was unrivalled. Margaret was kind, thoughtful and one of life's truly remarkable people.
 
She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her and will always be warmly remembered by so many. Heaven's gain will be our and the dogs' loss.
