Margaret Gooby

Our dear friend Margaret passed away after a short illness on Sat 6th Feb 2010, we will miss her friendship
and help.

All at Pro Dogs Direct wish to extend our condolences to Margaret's husband John, their children, grandchildren and friends and of course Polly and Toby cavaliers.

We also wish to thank all those friends and members of Purdys Pals who have made a donation in Margaret's memory to PDD which will help us to rescue more puppy farm girls and boys as Margaret would have wished.

A tribute by Tracey Waters

Margaret Gooby first contacted me in August 2008 to apply to adopt one of my foster girls, Lily.

Lily an ex- puppy farm cavalier who was very frail and unwell when she first came to me.

I went to Margaret's home to meet her and her husband, John, and found two wonderful, kind, caring people who I knew instantly would provide a loving home for my Lily.

So Lily went to live with them and became Polly. She was nurtured and loved and blossomed under John and Margaret's care. Polly adored Margaret and Margaret adored Polly.

Margaret was so shocked and saddened at the life her darling dog had lived before she came to PDD  she decided she had to help were she could.

Margaret wrote many letters, and signed petitions She even contacted her local paper when she discovered it was unwittingly advertising puppy farm bred pups and managed to get them to stop.

She joined Purdys Pals an on line support group for owners of ex- breeding dogs.

Margaret did all she could to help in the fight against puppy farms.

Margaret became a great friend to me and Pro Dogs Direct and told people all about us whenever she could.

Margaret Gooby was the most kind hearted and wonderful lady and I feel honoured to have known her.
