Thea
12 Month Old
Female Cross breed

Thea has now had her first birthday and has gained a grand total of 6.5 kg in weight in the couple of months she has been in foster care. She will finish growing in c October 2018 but we don't think she will go beyond the 26-27 kg mark (she is currently 23.5kg). She is a gloriously healthy strong girl who has definitely made great improvements to date.

Thea is fully housetrained as she was when she arrived. She eats well and sleeps well downstairs with other dogs and makes no fuss. Thea would benefit from a play buddy with a similar zest for life and energy level - Labrador or Springer perhaps. Thea has tons of energy and sense of fun and will need lots of exercise, substantially off lead. She is very well behaved in the house (literally no trouble) and is not destructive in any way but needs plenty of proper dog toys and chews (horn/antler type) - and plays with ALL of them every day.

She loves ball games. As long as she has the company of another dog, she does not suffer from separation anxiety and can be left for up to 4 hours; she may be fine on her own in bursts but it has not been possible to test this in foster care due to the carers other dogs. Similarly, she has not been tested with cats and therefore a home with a cat is not advisable.

Thea's new owners will need to continue her progress with training and stimulation and she will therefore need people/a person who are/is around most of the time. People with young children need not apply as whilst she is not at all aggressive, she is quite 'boundy'. Thea is a GSD cross (perhaps Collie). She would be fine with older teenagers. Thea is still quite puppyish and yet is very strong. Whilst she walks well on lead/harness for her foster carers, this has taken some time and she is likely to revert to some bad habits in the early days in a new home. Thea needs experienced dog owners. She is a gloriously beautiful, loving and intelligent girl who is now ready for her next step.

She has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. Thea is currently being fostered in Hastings, East Sussex.
